Distance learning from the perspective of Waldorf learning theory

There is much practical advice on teaching online. Waldorf pedagogy however is always based on two primary factors; the developmental tasks of the pupils in the given situation and the anthroposophical understandings of the developing human being- online teaching is no different. If we ask for a unique characteristic of Waldorf Education, then it is this: that we seek a connection with our students that is not limited to external encounters - in the classroom, in the school building, in the playground, on the road. We are also looking for encounters beyond that, when we reflect - for example when thinking back on the lesson - on the riddle of the individual child or young person, or when we share our experiences during a child conference. We have a thing
or two to say about the effectiveness of such efforts...
Wenn wir nach einem Alleinstellungsmerkmal der Waldorfpädagogik fragen, dann ist es doch dieses: Die Suche nach einer Verbindung mit unseren Schülerinnen und Schülern, die sich nicht nur auf die äußeren Begegnungen vor Ort – im Klassenraum, im Schulhaus, auf dem Pausenhof, unterwegs… beschränkt. Wir suchen darüber hinaus nach Begegnung, wenn wir uns gedanklich – zum Beispiel in der Rückschau – auf das Rätsel des einzelnen Kindes oder Jugendlichen besinnen oder uns während einer Kinderkonferenz miteinander austauschen. Gerade wir könnten "Lieder singen" über die Wirksamkeit solcher Bemühungen.

The original idea of this website was to let sick children take part in his lessons. Most of the help is for classes 7 - 9. Liebe Kolleginnen und Kollegen, auch ich möchte über meine gerade zweiwöchige Erfahrung mit "Homeschooling" berichten. Wir Waldorfschulen in Österreich sind schon seit dem 16. März in dem besonderen Zustand wegen der Coronakrise und ich durfte in dieser Zeit schon vieles erleben
und lernen. Als Klassenlehrerin einer 2. Klasse durfte ich mein eigenes "Rad" erfinden, um die geplante Epoche trotz der Krise zu führen und fand in den Familien hervorragende Unterstützung und Mitarbeit - jede Familie hat einen Weg gefunden, um die vorgeschlagene Arbeit mit den Kindern durchzuführen, obwohl die meisten Eltern noch arbeiten müssen. Das ist eine mega Herausforderung , die sie bisher wirklich gemeistert haben, und ich bin begeistert!

We at Eurythmy4you.com are offering free webinars with eurythmy sessions for strengthening the immune system and fighting viral infection during this time of crisis. You may gain access here.
On Mondays we do all exercises with a focus on our immune system. We work on
streaming and raying, we do exercises with our legs and we get to know the consonants as a source of resilience and self-assertion.
On Fridays, after various warm-ups, we go through a series of five eurythmy exercises against viral infections: Yes-No, Sympathy-Anthipathy, Love-E, Hope-U, A-Reverence.
You can get in at any time. The basic exercises remain more or less the same, but we learn different aspects every week.
We take breaks in between so that the effects of the exercises can develop. So you can choose for yourself whether you want
to attend the lesson until the end or whether it is better for you to stop beforehand.
You can also just watch. Then you do the exercises inside while sitting and that too can have an astonishingly positive effect. Just try it out!
